The Best Bits of Our Builder Brothers Launch

This past month has been one for the—well, books.

Our first order of business after renovating the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem’s Learning Lab was fairly obvious.

When we released our new children’s book, Builder Brothers: Big Plans, we treated it like the big reveal on one of our shows: We put tons of thought into every step, we walked away with lots of new friends, and we made sure there were a few surprises along the way. But nothing could have prepared us for the outpouring of love and support as we crisscrossed the country on our book tour. Here’s our highlight reel of one of the coolest weeks of our lives.

01

CELEBRATING WITH OUR NYC FRIENDS

We officially released Builder Brothers on October 2, and we spent the day in New York City with some of our liveliest friends. Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, and Rita Wilson invited us to the Today show to play a game called “Which Brother?” We also announced our Cruise Control contest in which two lucky Today viewers will join our Sailing with the Scotts cruise in December!

02

ANNOUNCING OUR LIBRARY MAKEOVER

We believe a library can change a child’s life for the better, so we partnered with Heart of America, Kohl’s, and HarperCollins for an extra-special project: making over one deserving elementary school library. We put out a call for nominations (which is now closed), and we can’t wait to announce the grand winner this month! Thirty other schools will receive a school supply crate with special treats.

03

MEETING TONS OF FELLOW TWINS

We embarked on a whirlwind 12-city book tour, from Calgary to New Jersey to Las Vegas and lots of other exciting cities in between. And we made so many new twin friends! We loved seeing double all across the U.S. and Canada—we always feel an immediate connection with those who share that special twin bond.

04

REVEALING A NEW LEARNING LAB

We worked with our friends at Lowe’s and Heart of America to transform a Learning Lab for the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem. The kids were amazing—they actually helped us design and construct the space where they will study, learn, create, and play. And even though they were in on the process, they were ecstatic when they saw the final results.

05

MAKING THE BEST SELLERS LIST

Thanks to everyone who went out (or went online) and purchased our book, Builder Brothers: Big Plans has already made the New York Times Best Sellers list! That’s not why we set out to write it, but this accolade is some sweet icing on the cake. We also love hearing from you and why you love the book—so keep those reviews and comments coming!
