A New Perspective, A New Home (Season 8, Episode 2)

After beating breast cancer last year, Jennifer and her husband, Alex, were ready for a fresh start. A big part of that meant finding the home of their dreams—and a big part of that meant selling their current house for top dollar.

Small Budget, Big Sacrifices (Season 7, Episode 7)

With three energetic small children, Kylah and John were well overdue for a bigger house—and in order for that to happen, they needed to be able to get the best price from their current digs. We gave each room a more defined purpose (sitting area, living room, kitchen) and installed unique design features throughout to take this home from builder-grade to grade-A.

Downsizing to Maximize Living Space (Season 7, Episode 12)

Lisa and Dave were ready to downsize, and in order to lock in their new dream home, we had to make this dated one much more appealing to potential buyers. We spent a good chunk of the budget restoring the stunning spiral staircase in the entrance, and high-impact upgrades like wide-plank hardwood throughout left everyone—including us—floored.

Downsizing to a Single-Story Home (Season 7, Episode 16)

Novella and Terry’s five-bedroom, five-bathroom home had a surplus of open spaces, unique architecture—and wasted potential. We added some much-needed curb (and living room) appeal, reconfigured the kitchen layout to make it feel even bigger, and turned the upstairs bonus room into a place worth spending time in.

A Home for All in the Family (Season 8, Episode 3)

“House of oddities” is a spot-on description for Ada and James’s home when we first saw it. From the weird diagonal flooring to the clunky fireplace surround to the misguided DIY mudroom to the abundance of windows and recessed lights, there was a lot holding this place back from getting top dollar on the market.

Upping the Budget (Season 7, Episode 18)

Missy and Jay lived in a posh neighborhood that’s full of beautiful homes, so theirs needed custom features and designer finishes to stand out from the competition. We started by opening up the kitchen and living room, installing fresh hardwood throughout the main floor, and creating a memorable entryway with geometric patterned wallpaper.

Changing It Up for Teenagers (Forever Home Season 1, Episode 14)

Tamara bought a home in her childhood neighborhood nearly two years ago, so her two teenagers could enjoy being close to Tamara’s parents and the ample park next door. As it turned out, the kids were over at Grandma and Grandpa’s house all the time, because Tamara’s house couldn’t accommodate their friends in a fun, easy way. In order to make her house the new hangout spot, we needed to get Tamara’s home feeling fresh and airy from the moment you walked in the door, all the way to the backyard deck.
