Rebel Wilson’s Surprise Outdoor Oasis

Rebel Wilson’s newly married hairstylist and best friend Nicole spent all of her savings to buy a home, leaving the couple with barely any money to renovate their backyard. Rebel worked with us to turn her barren space into an outdoor oasis.

Before & After

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS
SPACE FOR SEATING AND GREETING

Nicole and her husband Josh both have big families, so seating was a must for family meals. With this massive grill and prep area, they won’t have to worry about running out of room while feeding everyone, and the combined dining and seating areas will give everyone a place to hang out and eat.

POOL TETRIS

Rebel was pretty insistent on installing a pool, which we thought was going to be a tight fit in Nicole’s backyard. Turns out we were wrong—well, sort of. All we had to do was lift a 6,500-pound prefabricated swimming pool over Nicole’s house and slide it into place between power lines and gutters. No big deal!

PUT AWAY THE MOWER

We brought in new sod for Nicole’s front yard to give her a lovely entrance, but we didn’t want her mowing small strips of grass between features in her backyard oasis. Instead, we installed synthetic grass, which looks just as great and requires none of the maintenance. Just one less worry for Nicole as she lets her concerns melt away in the pool.
